Due to changing circumstances Chadwell Heath Baptist Church is now looking to enhance its’ team that run the Willow Tree Baby Bank, we are especially looking for a lead co-ordinator as well as other volunteers. It is an established Baby Bank used by many local agencies, with a website, an online referral system and a list of regular referrers.

All referrals come through the website and are only from professional sources such as maternity units, family support workers, social workers and so on.  We receive donations from families who no longer need their baby items and wish for them to be donated to other families in need. This ranges from new-born baby clothes through to moses baskets and cots, to sterilising equipment and toys and so much more.  Almost 95% of we what give out is donated with other items (such as mattresses for cots being purchased or sourced and low cost from various suppliers). We even give out toys as well.

Started in 2016 the baby bank went live on 1st October 2017 and has since helped over 700 families with infant clothes and related equipment. It has an established stock base, a small budget and links with other charities. After 5 years of amazing service the current co-ordinator has now decided it is time to hand over to someone new, so that’s where you may come in.  As you can imagine there is a lot to do in any project of this nature but those families who are served by the Willow Tree Baby Bank deeply appreciate and benefit from this work.

If we are not able to find people who would like to take on this role then we may have to look to close the Baby Bank which is not something we would like to do, as its impact in the community is deep and amazing. If you think you would like to be involved with the Willow Tree Baby Bank, then have a look at the role descriptions here and see if you could be part of an amazing team at Willow Tree Baby Bank.

Willow Tree Baby Bank is part of Chadwell Heath Baptist Church and as such we would ask all volunteers to agree to our policies and procedures whilst volunteering for this project.
