Thank you to everyone who has signed up to prayer for one hour between 6am on Saturday 8th and 6am on Sunday 9th August, and it is wonderful that all the spaces have been filled so that there is a constant chain of prayer for 24 hours.
To guide you through the hour of prayer please find some points below which you may find helpful.

Psalm 90:17, NIV: "May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-- yes, establish the work of our hands."

Exodus 25:8–9 - “Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. “According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.

Proverbs 24:3–4 - By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; And by knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.

1) Thanksgiving

Let us first start by thanking God for:

  • Giving us a building where we can gather and worship.
  • The over 100 years of the existence of the current church building as a place of worship and service to the local community.
  • The location anyone could ever wish for: – right in the middle of High Road Chadwell Heath, accessible by public transport, space to build modern and bigger facilities for worship, residential units and shared areas with local community, mixed use area - residential, shops, pubs, supermarket, banks
  • Thus far the Lord has brought us in the new development: - the good relationship with the architects (SUSD), project managers (Rapleys), London Baptist Association - funding and advice, all the surveys and other professionals involved to date, the CHBC Building Team (James, Peter, Ian, Chris, Helen, and David), the design, architectural plans and models of the proposed development

2. Public consultation

Public consultation is a key part in the planning application process. It is vital as we showcase the benefits the development will bring to the local community, and that we have engaged with all stakeholders in the project for the planning application process. Every view presented is considered, from those living in the Chadwell Heath and surrounding area and anyone else who may be interested to offer their views; this could be individuals or organisations. As the public consultation process progresses lets us pray that God will give us favour with the local community and organisations, and anyone who will present their views to our building development proposal.

Let us pray that: - -

  • Even though the current situation does not allow us to open our doors to citizens and other institutions to discuss the project proposals in open, people will make the best use of the forums available in webinar, email, telephone calls and letters to engage with us in the public consultation process.-The public consultation process will be seen to be open and transparent and gain trust from the public, and that the process will be seen to be participative by the planning authorities.
  • The people handling the consultation will have wisdom to give clear and well-thought responses to the queries presented during the consultation.-The reasons put forward why we are putting the building project will be clear for the public to understand the proposal.
  • The public consultation will provide an opportunity for the community to appreciate the new building and that it will bring positive outcomes to the lives of the community. -The suggestions and views presented during the consultation will be beneficial and provide opportunities to produce a better and relevant building development. -The information provided to the public will be helpful in accepting any resulting changes resulting from the development project.
  • The final report responding to the queries and analysis of the public consultations will be clear and well-considered and be seen to meet the expectations of all the participants during the Planning application. -The public consultation will create a strong foundation for long-lasting and trustful relationships between CHBC, the community and businesses in Chadwell Heath and the surrounding area – and bring more people to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Any other matters as the Holy Spirit will guide you.
