In HimWe are God’s dwelling place

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2: 19-22)

Welcome to our Pentecostal Prayer Week which starts today and ends next Sunday with Pentecostal Sunday celebrations.

After celebrating the Easter in lockdown, missing those activities that comes once in a year; the Walk of Witness and Easter Service outside the church with other Churches, I was looking forward to celebrating the Pentecost Sunday with other believers at CHBC. I did not expect the lockdown would extend this far.

I miss the fellowship of singing and sharing the Word together. I am however grateful to God for the technology that has enables us to maintain contact link through Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube.
Coming back to the Pentecostal prayer week, I would like us to focus on the ways the Holy Spirit can help us remain strong in these uncertain and unusual times. What and how He is teaching us in preparing us for the growth of the Church of Christ post COVID-19.

Today let us start by reminding ourselves where we stand with the Holy Spirit as children of God, our Father. We have access to the Father through His Son Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. As a forgiven people, we are the Church of Christ which He died for and therefore we are the Community in which the Holy Spirit lives. So, the Holy Spirit lives in each of us individually and in all of us collectively as the body of believers. Paraphrasing Ephesians 2:18, we have access to the Father through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So, no matter where you or whatever situation you find yourself during the current unusual time, know that the Holy Spirit is present in each of us; He is here to help us, to teach us, to guide us and to intercede for us to God the Father in our struggles.

Father we thank you because when you ascended to Heaven, you left us the Holy Spirit to be our helper, guide, teacher and comforter. We thank you because He is interceding for us in our current struggles.
May we know that the presence of the Holy Spirit is here to strengthen us and encourage us in whatever situation we are going through at this moment. Amen
