ChildWe all know the phrase ‘The devil makes work for idol hands’ and I wonder if that is true for any of us today, whether we have done or said anything that now fills us with shame should anyone find out, or whether we have experienced something that brings us so low we feel crushed by it. If that’s you then I simply want to share this with you… God is greater than the weight you are carrying. Cast your burdens on the Lord and he will sustain you… I was reminded of this when I listened to a song that always touches my heart. The song contains these words …

“Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal”

…they are so simple yet they always remind me of God’s great love for us, a love that reaches out across any chasm, over any wall and around any obstacle, simply because God loves you… no matter how you are feeling about yourself, GOD LOVES YOU (emphasis intended). I’ll leave with the words to the song and a link to the video. The song is called ‘Come as you are’ and is written by David Crowder (https://youtu.be/r2zhf2mqEMI )... If you need to be reminded that God is waiting for you just as you are then these words are for you. Come to Him, sit and lay down your burdens… you don’t need them, and He will take them, be free.

Come out of sadness
From wherever you've been
Come broken hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You're not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are

There's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There's rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't cure

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You're not too far
Lay down your hurt lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are

Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There's joy for the morning
Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal

So lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home
You're not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you are
